Noble Investors is the fruit of a successful career in mutual fund management and a deep commitment to doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Noble Investors is the fruit of an extensive career in mutual fund management and a deep commitment to doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. Founder and principal, Jim Roeder, originally hails from South Carolina and studied accounting at Clemson University. Five years into his career he narrowed his focus to mutual fund management. An MBA from the University of Chicago, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certificate, and several years working as an equity analyst prepared him to dive into the deep end of finance. That meant Van Kampen/Invesco Funds in Houston TX where he and his team managed as much as $40B in assets. He managed large cap value funds through boom and bust, including the 2008 financial crisis. He absolutely loved the work.

As his career seasoned, Jim learned to see opportunity in not only traditional value stocks but also in high quality companies whose long-term prospects are not fully appreciated by the market. Paying a little more for quality can end up paying off over time. Disciplined investing and patience can build wealth. As many find, the high pace and institutional nature of his industry wore on him so when he saw the right moment to exit, he moved his family to Fredericksburg looking for a better pace, better friendships, and a more meaningful lifestyle. Here, while there is a lot of success around, people care more about who you are and what you love than the letters after your name. Character and faith matter. A few years ranching were a lot of fun and kept him busy but he kept involved in the market, mostly for himself and his family. As he grew into relationships in town and more and more people expressed interest in his career and skills in investing, the Noble Investors seed began to germinate.

For Jim, wealth has always been most satisfying when it is used with intention, often by giving it away in meaningful contexts.  In Noble Investors, he continues to manage his own assets for the purpose of honoring the gift.  But even more satisfying is the opportunity it affords him to share something even deeper, the skills and experience he has developed throughout his career.

Noble Investors' heartbeat is to be a local entry point into the stock market for friends backed by strong expertise, industry connections, and sound fundamentals.

In every arena of life, Jim’s focus is doing unto others as you’d have them do to you. Whether it is with his wife and daughters, his church, or local schools and charities. It’s a part of his DNA. Noble Investors is just another avenue for that, one where he can welcome others into that same path.
